He was predeceased by: his parents, Perley Vance and Ruth Frost Vance; his son Gary Ray Vance Jr.; his brothers, Mark Vance Sr. and Ronnie Vance; and his grandson Austin Vance.

He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Karen Vance; his children, Travis Vance (JoAnn) and Tracy Corrigan (Todd); his siblings, Jim Vance (Kim), Larry Vance, Perley Vance (Teresa) and Nancy Sudduth (Dean); and his grandchildren, T. J. Vance, Raquel Martin (Jeremy), Tiffany Klietz, Cody and Hunter Nard. He is also survived by Ten great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews.
