He was predeceased by : his wife Elizabeth Brooks. He is survived by : his children, John Brooks Jr. (Debbie), James Brooks (Cheryl), Curtis Brooks, Carolyn Brooks and Tammie Brooks; and his siblings, David Brooks, Jerry Brooks and Martha Jo Williams. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
