He is survived by: his wife Annette Farmer Purviance; his son Jim Purviance, II (Cindy); his brother Jack Purviance; his nephew Zachary Purviance (Anna); his grandchildren, Brooke Hagewood, C. R. Boyd (Ashley) and Brandi Boyd; and his great grandchildren, Anderson Boyd, Annalynn Boyd and Holden Boyd.
