Kay Melton Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Kay Melton of Springfield, Tennessee. Kay, born on March 26, 1955, passed away on September 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Edward and Nona B. Morris Spivey; her husband James E. Melton; and her sister May Murphy. She is survived by: her son James Allen Melton (Amber); her siblings, Dale Spivey (Clara), Donald Spivey (Beverly), Nona Faye Moody (James), Nellie Gainous (Charles) and Linda Carter (Carl); her grandchildren, Tarrah Melton, Zada Melton, Tommy Melton, Clayton Sullivan (Brittany), Isabella Bates and Gabriella McReynolds; and her great grandchildren, Josie Sullivan and Phillip Sullivan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home (901 Fairview Ave, Bowling Green, KY 42101). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at the Clear Fork Baptist Church Cemetery (303 Clear Fork Church Spur Rd, Rockfield, KY 42274).
