He was predeceased by : his parents, James Arlin Gates and Judith Ann Winsett Gates; and his brothers, James W. Gates and Steven Gates. He is survived by : his daughter Ashley Gaut (Ryan) of Mansfield, TN; his girlfriend Tammy Staggs of Big Sandy, TN; his siblings, Marsha Cosey of Knoxville, TN, Tamera Green (Chris) of Paducah, KY, Kim Diaz (Frank) of Hammond, IN and Brad Gates (Whitney) of Puryear, TN; and his grandchildren, Farrah Gaut, Kinsley Gaut and Jax Gaut. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
