It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derrick Lee Newton of Summertown, Tennessee, born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, who passed away on December 12, 2023, at the age of 39, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Kenneth Heatherly and Cathye Phillips; his stepgrandfather Harold Mobbs; and his grandfather Grady Newton, Sr.. He is survived by: his parents, Christy Mobbs (Terry) of Summertown, TN and Grady Newton, Jr. of Lawrenceburg, TN; his daughters, Tate Newton of Loretto, TN and Tess Newton of Loretto, TN; his sister Haley Wright (Seth) of Summertown, TN; his stepbrother Chris Mobbs (Mary Claire) of Lawrenceburg, TN; and his grandparents, Reva Heatherly of Summertown, TN and Henry Phillips of Lawrenceburg, TN. He is also survived by many extended family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
