He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Spears and Minnie Poag Spears; and his siblings, Margaret Stephens, Frank Spears, Albert Spears, Alvin Spears, Vincent Spears, Lloyd Spears and Roy Spears.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Spears of Summertown, TN; his son Greg Spears (Tina); and his sister Vernie Spears of Summertown, TN. He is also survived by five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
