He was predeceased by: his parents, George Fields and Mamie Clifton Fields; and his siblings, Luther Fields, Kenneth Fields, Ralph Fields, Wayman Fields, Clara Weddle, Blanche Bowyer, Willie Mae Shanks and Doris Allen.

He is survived by: his sister-in-law Mary Jane Fields. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
