He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Gerald Eugene Downs and Margaret Downs (Pegge); his parents-in-law, Willie Dalton Hamm and Wilma Virginia Hamm; and his brothers-in-law, Jesse James Hamm, William Hardy Hamm and Dalton Daniel Hamm.
He is survived by: his wife Melody; his sibling's children, Jaime and Ben (Carey); his grandsons, Franklin, Cooper and Josiah; his sister Bonnie Harr (Dennis); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Findley (Kinnith), Vangie Cannady, Howard Hamm (Wanda), Robert Hamm (Betsy), Charles Hamm (Lucy) and Jeff Hamm (Trella). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kyker Funeral Homes Our Sweetwater Chapel (113 W North St, Sweetwater, TN 37874). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sweetwater Area Ministries, Good Shepherd Center (Madisonville), or Miracle Lake Inc (Etowah).
