With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Luther Barker (Sweetwater, Tennessee), who passed away on December 18, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though John may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those John touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Luther Barker Sr. and Fannie Lou Sherlin Barker; and his sisters, Ruth Yvette Sample and Mary Francis Geralds (Frankie). He is survived by: his wife Helen Heuer Barker; his children, Raychelle Flannagan (Tim) and John Douglas Barker (Rel Ann); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Sara Flannagan, Britton and Price Barker.
