He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Clayton "Clay" and Clovia Wilmoth (Bailey) of Tazewell, Tennessee; his parents-in-law, Walter and Aileen Cooke of Maynardville, Tennessee; his son Joseph Wayne Wilmoth of Tazewell, Tennessee; his sisters, Louise Wilmoth of Auburn, California and Mildred; his brother-in-law Michael Solimando of St. Petersburg, Florida; his brother Fred; his sister-in-law Betty Wilmoth of Tazewell, Tennessee; his siblings, Alvis "Cotton" Wilmoth of Tazewell, Tennessee and Shirley "Nell"; his brother-in-law Doyle Bull of Tazewell, Tennessee; his sister Patricia "Patty"; and his brother-in-law Vincent Baiardi of Brooklyn.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Wilmoth; his children, Carol (Paul Greene), Mary (Randy Killion), Jodi (Edwin Whitaker) and Randy Bruce Wilmoth of Tazewell, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Brandon Chittum (Jessica) of New Tazewell, Ryne Stone of Tazewell, Erik Stone of Russellville, Corbin Whitaker of Tazewell, Tennessee, Harrison Whitaker of Tazewell, Tennessee and Sara Hanks (Ryan) of Navarre, Florida; his great grandchildren, Owen, Cheyenne Stone of Tazewell, Troy Chittum of New Tazewell and Lilly Warren of New Tazewell, Tennessee; and his close friends, Mike Cope and Shane Bunch.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Claiborne Overholt Funeral Home (1106 TN-33, New Tazewell, TN 37825). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Bailey Cemetery (172 Bailey Cemetery Rd, Tazewell, TN 37879).
