With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janice Kathleen Combs of Tazewell, Tennessee, born in Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on January 5, 2026 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Gragg and Bertha Mayes Gragg; her husband Wayne Combs; her son Daniel Combs; and her grandson Nicholas Helton.
She is survived by: her children, Barry Combs (Beth), Gabriel Combs, Melissa Helton (Gary), Nathaniel Combs, Naomi Combs, Sarah Combs (Joe), Hannah Spurlock (Ronnie) and Seth Combs (Robin); and her sisters, Edith Gragg, Mary Lou Bowler and Margaret Gragg. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
