She was predeceased by: her mother Daisy Short; her grandparents, Hoyt, Dorothy Short, Elmer and Maude Widner; her father-in-law Hollis Wells; and her aunts and uncles, Imogene Cupp, Paulene Keller, Lorene Ford, Dale and David Short.
She is survived by: her husband Dennis Wells; her son Riley Wells (Meagan Cox); her father Frank Short; and her mother-in-law Ozina Wells.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel (937 S Broad St, New Tazewell, TN 37825). A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (1106 Nell St, Tazewell, TN 37879).
