She is survived by : her son Darren Bryson Sr. (Julie); her grandchildren, Darren Bryson Jr. (Anna), Brandon Bryson (Vanessa) and Briana Bryson; and her siblings, William Guthrie (Brenda) and Jewell Knighton. She is also survived by her great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

“I was just trying to find Carolyn to wish her a Happy Birthday coming up when I came across this. I am sorry for your loss, Darren. Your Mom was my boss at Great Lakes in the Job Classification Department. She was a wonderful leader and boss and all of us very much liked and respected her. She seemed to have friends in every Civilian department all around the Naval Base. Everyone loved her.”
