He was predeceased by: his parents, Edd Johnson and Nancy Poteete Johnson; his wife Nellie May Johnson; his son Eric Wade Johnson; and his siblings, Dan Johnson, Robert Johnson, Elizabeth Garner and Odell Andrews.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Johnson (Belinda) and Linda Johnson Brown. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
