He was predeceased by: his mother Virginia "Tootsie" Clark Sykes; and his brothers, Allen Hays, Did Hays, Dan Hays, Gary Sykes and David Sykes.
He is survived by: his close friends, Lloyd and Linda Smith; his children, Jason "Jaybird" Clark (Dawn) of Andrews, Texas and Darlene Cox of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and his siblings, Sonda Bishop of Dyersburg, Tennessee and James Sykes of Dyersburg, Tennessee. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
