He was predeceased by: his parents, William Fortner and Alma Sands Fortner; his children, Melody Mathina and Ronnie Fortner; and his siblings, Wanda Kern, Mary Lou Demerco, Donald Fortner and Billy Fortner.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lorie Tate (Timothy) of Tiptonville and Theresa Erpelding of Central City. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
