He was predeceased by: his wife Rachel E. Ownby; his parents, Marshall Ownby and Velma Ownby; his granddaughter Jennifer Ownby; his brothers, Gene and Dott Ownby; and his brother-in-law Clark Myers.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Ledbetter (Danny) and Steve Ownby (Jennifer); his sister Flo Myers; his grandchildren, Brooke Lamphier (James), Eric LeQuire (Michelle), Jessica Ownby, Nicole Dailey, Crystal Swanson, Kaylee and Emmerson; and his great grandchildren, Adalynn Rachel Lamphier, Ashlynn Elizabeth Lamphier and Kara Lynn Ledbetter.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the West Millers Cove Missionary Cemetery (317 W Millers Cove Rd, Walland, TN 37886).
