He is survived by: his wife LaVenia Auberry Lawson; his sons, John Lawson and Newell Lawson (Heather); his grandchildren, Zachary, Caleb Lawson and Morgan Lawson; and his siblings, Ophelia Parson (late Claude), Evelyn Meeks Verner (late James), Elaine Irvin (late David), Christine Stockwell (late Lonnie), Faye Grimes (Harley), Angeline Stockwell (Jerry), Alfreda Whited Byford (Donald) and Thomas Lawson (Wanda). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
