He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joyner Caldwell and Allie Bess Smith Caldwell; his wife Sammye Thornton Caldwell; and his sisters, Ann McEwen and Wilda Dyer.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Jackson (Mark) of Martin and Kurt Caldwell (Delia Haskins) of Troy; his grandchildren, Brady York (Caitlyn) of South Fulton, Tori York of Martin, Joyner Caldwell of Chattanooga, Austin Caldwell of Troy and Northam of Troy; and his siblings, Donnie Caldwell of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Mary Lynn (Steve) of Sugar Tree, Tennessee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to First Baptist Church in Troy or to The Gideons International.
