He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman Richards and Opal Ramsey Richards (Donna Mae Green Richards); and his son Christopher Lee Richards. He is survived by: his children, James Leslie Richards, Brian Richards (Deborah), Joseph Green and Bobbie Jones (Justin). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
