Michael Joseph Blackburn Sr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael Joseph Blackburn Sr. of Tullahoma, Tennessee, who passed away on September 25, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Michael shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Michael farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfonso Blackburn and Elizabeth Blackburn (Weiglein); his significant other Midge; his son Jeffrey; and his brothers, Alfonso Blackburn, Jr. and Patrick Blackburn, Sr. of Chicago, IL..
He is survived by: his sons, Michael, Jr. Blackburn (Susan) of Tullahoma and Robert Blackburn (Yasmina). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (304 W Grizzard St, Tullahoma, TN 37388). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, and to honor Mike's amazing legacy as a self-taught auto mechanic and his love of teaching what he knew, his family has requested donations be made to SEMA, which provides scholarships to students pursuing studies in automotive mechanics.
