He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Irvin and Mary Ellen Foust Patterson; his son Ralph Patterson Jr.; and his siblings, Danny, Dennis Patterson and Martha.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela, Cynthia, Anita, Debra, Nicole and Mary Ellen (Ellie); and his sisters, Ruthie and Margaret. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
