He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Pate and Estral Pate; and his siblings, Robert, William Pate of Kentucky and Iva Pate of Kentucky.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Pate (Haggard) of Union City; his children, Jennifer Pate and Jason Pate (Melissa) of Union City; and his grandsons, Jaxon and Reid Pate of Union City. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home (1200 S Miles Ave, Union City, TN 38261). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Beulah Baptist Association for the Chosen Children Mission Trip (https://www.bbatn.org) or simply honor him by doing a kind act for someone in need.
