Marvin R. Phillips Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marvin R. Phillips of Union City, Tennessee, who passed away on December 25, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Denzel Phillips and Birdie Phillips; his son Brian Mires Phillips; his grandson Justin Scott Gaines; and his sisters, Alma Ford and Norma Schiavone.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Mires Phillips; his son Mark Phillips (Natalie); his grandchildren, Tyler Phillips (Katie), Lauren Phillips Beirne (Jamie) and Cory Phillips (Morgan); his daughter Gina Gaines (Greg); and his grandchildren, Jenaleigh Gaines Bingham (Nick), Justin Gaines, Kelsey Gaines, Brianne Phillips, Brittany Phillips Hartwell (Todd) and Brandon Phillips.
