With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joe Denny Humphrey of Walling, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 5, 2025 at the age of 75. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Thomas and Clara Marie Lowery Humphrey; his son Kevin Young; and his brother Thomas Humphrey. He is survived by: his wife Janice McBride Humphrey; his daughter Katy Hurd; his son-in-law Steve Hurd; his daughter Kim England; his son-in-law Tommy England; his grandchildren, Kayleigh (Robbins) Allen (Dustin), Chelsea (England) White (John), Jake Young, Maddie Hurd, Ellie Hurd and Max Hurd; and his siblings, Eddy Wayne Humphrey (Phyllis), Pam McKay (Henry) and Dotty Pitman (Royce). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sparta First Freewill Baptist Church (35 Baker St, Sparta, TN 38583). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
