He was predeceased by : his wife Joann Cox; his parents, Elmer Cox and Hazel Bunch; and his brothers, Jack, Ronnie and Joseph Cox.

He is survived by : his children, Teresa Bond (Rod), Donald Cox (Christine), Hazel Holler (Todd), James Cox, Marsha Young (Mitchell) and Kevin Cox; his grandson Jason Lee Cox; his siblings, Aleen Mills, Mary Ruth Wilder, Dottie Flynn, Bessie Russell, Tommy and Huey Cox; and his close friend Barbara Wilson. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
