With sadness, we share the passing of Ava Justine Skeans of Watauga, Tennessee. Ava, born on April 5, 1959 in Piney Flats, Tennessee, passed away on June 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George V. Cox and Bertha Cox; her adoptive mother Hattie Ruth "Mouse" Skeans; and her siblings, Evelyn Hollifield, Irma Cox, Beatrice Cox, Norman "Bud", George C. "Red", Charles W., Harold "Tad", Perry, Sr. and Robert L. Cox.
She is survived by: her adoptive father John "Ed" Skeans; her siblings, Ina Holden, Phyllis Larimer, Allen D. Cox (Linda), Delbert "Buster" Cox (Wanda), Wayne Cox, William "Bill" Cox (Carolyn), James "Dink" Cox and Dennis "Punk" Cox (Donna); Mark Scott. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
