He was predeceased by: his father Fred Hammons; his cousin Robert Campbell; and his siblings-in-law, Nilah Groves Mills and Charles Brubaker. He is survived by: his wife Linda Lee Hammons; his sons, Roger Hammons (Sarah) and Daniel Hammons (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Alexis Norris (Justin) and Chesnee Hammons; his great grandchildren, Knox and Nash; his sister Gail Brubaker; his nieces and nephews, Chris Brubaker (Carrie), Michael Brubaker (Jennifer), Sarah Woods (Ben) and Jennifer Schmale; his great-nephews, Abe Schmale (Hannah) and Jacob Schmale; his cousins, Jana Lisa Hicks (Dennis), Kristen Campbell, Kendra Hicks, Joey Campbell (Paula) and Jeffrey Campbell; Gabe. He is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews.
