He was predeceased by: his father Robert Ray Ellison; his wife Anita F. Ellison; and his brothers, Grady, Jimmie and Michael.

He is survived by: his children, Carla Alberghini (Mark), Tim Ellison (Sheila), Leslie Miller and Jennifer Spodat (Konley); his grandchildren, Casey (Ajai), Malissa (Robert), Samantha (Tim), Jodi (Mark), Megan (Jason), Zack (Leigh), Hollyn (Matt), Haley, Carlie (Travis), Landon, Mackenzie (Colin) and Sydney; and his siblings, Ann Stephens, Chuck (Jeree) and Ricky (Debbie). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
