He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Scalf and Larkin Scalf; and his brothers, Terry, Junior, James and Jerry Scalf.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Scalf of Johnson City; his children, Robin Denney (Jake) of Elizabethton and Rocky Scalf (Charlene) of Watauga; his grandchildren, Heather Green (Chris), Anthony Scalf (Cassie), Hannah Turbyfill (Dustin), Emily Humphrey (Brett) and Kaytlyne Fields (Dustin); his great grandchildren, Corey Green, Cooper Green, Camden Green, Sophia Humphrey, Peyton Humphrey, Kyleigh Scalf, Larkin Scalf, Marley Tabor, Maverick Turbyfill and Adison Fields; his siblings, Linda Milhorn of Piney Flats and Larry Scalf (Edith) of Elizabethton; and his close friends, Jennifer Godsey and Charles Guinn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
