He was predeceased by: his mother Addie Oreta Hemby Nix; and his sister Jane Burns. He is survived by: his father John Wesley Nix; his wife Retha Nix of Waverly, TN; his daughters, Kim Stribling (George) of Waverly, TN and Tracy Nix of Waverly, TN; his grandchildren, Walker Feris (Kaston), Abrielle Henry (Austin), Brayden Henry, Gavan Proctor (Jamie), Lucas Nix and Dillon Curtis (Julia); his great grandchildren, Walker, Jaxon, Breleigh, Kenadie, Aaron James, Jack, Emmy Kate, Harper, Penelope and Huxley; his sisters, June Jones, Saraland and Vicki Morton (James); and his sister-in-law Joan McCrary of Waverly, TN..
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Waverly Church of the Nazarene (693 Airport Rd, Waverly, TN 37185).
In lieu of flowers, family ask that donations be made to the Humphreys County Humane Society or Ellis Grove Presbyterian Church. (245 Honey Point Ferry Lane).
