James Vance Weatherspoon Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Vance Weatherspoon of Waverly, Tennessee, who passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Lee Wherry Weatherspoon; the mother of his children Shirley Bradley Weatherspoon; and his grandsons, Matt and Brock Vester. He is survived by: his father James Wesley Weatherspoon; his wife Judy Weatherspoon; his children, Elsa Vester (David), Anna Williams and Tim Weatherspoon (Dawn); his grandchildren, Caroline Hale (Matt), Chandler Vester, Bradley Williams (Elizabeth), Kaylee Weatherspoon, Ellesyn Johnson, Nate Johnson and Molly Johnson; his great grandchildren, Reagan Hale, Eli Hale, River Vester, Katie Williams and Charlie Williams; and his brother Douglas Weatherspoon (Brenda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home - Waverly (2400 TN-13, Waverly, TN 37185). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James Developmental Center, 200 Matthew's Hollow Road, Waverly, TN 37185.
