It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean L. Thompson of Waverly, Tennessee, who passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jean L. Thompson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leona Spears Loftin and Murray Lynn Loftin; her husband Bill Thompson (Bill); her siblings, Ann DeArman, Lynn Waldrop and Richard Loftin; and her brother-in-law DeArman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Holly Waldrop (Chris) of White Bluff, TN and Jennie Wagner (Bobby) of Burns, TN; her granddaughter Sydney Wagner of Burns, TN; her brother Stephen Loftin (Brenda); and her brother-in-law John Waldrop. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She also led the Prayer Shawl Ministry for many years, teaching others to knit and helping the group to donate countless shawls, hats, blankets, and other knitted items to the less fortunate.
