It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ethel Hammack of Waynesboro, Tennessee, who passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Mary Ethel departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Mary Ethel may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Mary Ethel leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Lee and Altie Barkley Hammack; and her siblings, Troy Franklin Hammack, Roy Lee Hammack, James Hammack, Willie David Hammack and Juanita Irene Howell.
She is survived by: her brothers, Paul Hammack (Margaret) of Collinwood, TN and John Hammack (Ruby) of Lincoln Park, MI. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calendar Shackelford Funeral Directors - Wayne County (104 Hill St, Waynesboro, TN 38485). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
