In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Rex leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Rex may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Fillmore and Dessie Belle Ingle Reed; and his stepson James Kelly. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Matthews Reed of Waynesboro, TN; his children, Jewett Michael Reed (Tina) of Defiance, OH, Rhonda Extrand of Napolean, OH, Ashley Reed Rich of Waynesboro, TN and Harlie Sandusky of Waynesboro, TN; and his stepdaughters, Lisa Kelly of Waynesboro, TN and Terri Kelly of Waynesboro, TN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Wayne County (104 Hill St, Waynesboro, TN 38485). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 at the Ralph Cole Cemetery (1411 Savannah Hwy, Waynesboro, TN 38485).
