He was predeceased by: his parents, Clay Sherrill and Effie Foster Sherrill; his son Johnny B. Sherrill; and his brothers, Edward Sherrill, Lonzo Sherrill, Elzo Sherrill, Dee Sherrill, Clay Sherrill Jr., Receal Sherrill, Paul Sherrill and W. C. Sherrill.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Sherrill; and his children, Rita Gail Sherrill of Waynesboro, Doug Sherrill (Missy) of Waynesboro and Sherry Rees (Steve) of Hohenwald, Tennessee. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
