He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Long and Mildred Lois Long; and his siblings, Linda West and David Long. He is survived by: his sons, Alec Monroe Long, Jr. (Marcia) of Whitwell, John William Long of Cleveland and Joe Allen Long of Whitwell, Tennessee; his siblings, Billy Long of Kentucky and Regina Posey of Johnson City, Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Hannah Powell and Jazyiah "Jazzy" Long. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel (555 W Cloud Springs Rd, Rossville, GA 30742). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at the Tyner Cemetery (6620 Bonny Oaks Dr, Chattanooga, TN 37421).
