He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Green and Martha Louise Holloway; and his brother Edgar Holloway. He is survived by: his significant other Kathy D. Cantrell of Whitwell; his son Johnny H. Cantrell, Jr. of Whitwell; his sister Bettye Joyce Maynor of Chattanooga; and his nephews, Paul Maynor (Cindy) of Murfreesboro and Steve Maynor (Denise).
