She was predeceased by: her husband Bobby D. McGowan; her parents, Fred Gravitt and Essie Perkins Gravitt; and her siblings, Freddie Morrison, Ray Gravitt, Faye Hartman, Crandle Gravitt, Barbara Dean Layne, Larry Gravitt and Glenda Worley.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon McGowan Kilgore, Bobby J. McGowan and Sherry Dozier (Bruce); her siblings, Joyce McDonough, Audrey Birdwell and Tommy Gravitt; her grandchildren, Samantha Gholston (Austin), Tyler Kilgore, Erin Fulfer (Travis), Ray Holloway, Andy McGowan (Bailey) and Katelyn McGowan; and her great grandchildren, Madison Fine, Jameson Austin, Hadley Gholston, Bryleigh Kilgore, Henry Fulfer, Jack Fulfer and Brielle McGowan.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Reed Funeral Home (11675 TN-28, Whitwell, TN 37397). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
