He is survived by: his wife Gennie Nunley Ellison; his children, Tammy Hunter, Cindy Hopkins, Stacy Green (Joey) and Sidney D. Ellison; his grandchildren, Christopher Meeks, Cassie Meeks, Jake Peoples, Kylee Whited, Carley Meeks, Tanya Hunter, Tyler Ellison (Kristen), Joseph Green, Morgan Green, Austin Schellar and Slade Ellison; and his great grandchildren, Bentley, Zaylee, Keaton, Kadence, Kayson and Maggie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A graveside service was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Griffith Creek Cemetery (5635 Old Dunlap Rd, Whitwell, TN 37397).
