She was predeceased by: her husband Ronnie "Groove" Downum; and her father Ronald "Buddy" Tripp. She is survived by: her mother Carolyn Joy Tripp; her children, Eric Downum (Jaclyn) and Lisa Long; her grandchildren, Megan Rankin (Seth) and Kendal Long (Chance); her siblings, Susan Schwarz (Mike), Rita Kaye Bishop (Tim), Ronnie Tripp (Deana) and Randy Tripp (Cindy); and her brothers-in-law, Donnie Downum (Joy) and Dale Downum. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. (795 Morrison Springs Rd, Whitwell, TN 37397).
