He was predeceased by: his parents, Avril Lee and Shirley Jean Curtis (Coker); and his sister Rebecca Huffman. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Curtis; his children, Casey Barnes and Alan Curtis II (Deana); his grandchildren, Scarlett Barnes, Calli Curtis and Bella Curtis; and his siblings, John Curtis and Cindy Young (Greg). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
