He was predeceased by: his parents, Athen Thomas and Mamie Bean Sr.; his former wife Annie Brannon-Bean; his children, Deborah Taylor, Don Bean, Athen Bean III, Joy Bean and Joseph Bean; his grandchildren, Saniya Bean and Johnny Taylor Jr.; and his siblings, Herman Bean, Donal Bean, Wilbert Bean and Bonnie Rowe.
He is survived by: his children, Francis, Darryl and Teresa (Punkin); his wife Barbara Bean; his children, James Kincherlow (Cynthia), Beverly Wilkerson, Punkin Carden (Victor), Jimmie Taylor (Tony), Annette Mosley (Scott), Sonya Taylor (Lyn), Stephanie Dedrick (Kenny) and Alisa Russell; and his brothers, George Bean (Anna), Robert Bean (Rita), Larry Bean, Walter Bean and Mark Bean (Karen). He is also survived by thirty nine grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home (300 1st Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
