He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Elmore and Mildred Elizabeth Stafford (Sanders); his wife Loretta Stafford (Guffey); his siblings, Bob Stafford (Freida), Dorothy Stewart (Jimmy), Terry Stafford (Kathy) and Mary Daniel (John); and his daughter Sherri Renee'Rich.

He is survived by : his children, Beth Shepherd and Ernie Stafford; his grandchildren, Ben Elliott, Tommy Elliott, Christin Owens (Randy), Melinda Stewart and Wendy Stewart; his great grandchildren, Leslie, Adam, Chris, Hayley, Little Randy, Trayce, Gracie, Taylor, Skylar, Lucie and Henry; his brother Jerry Stafford (Bonnie); and his foster daughters, Jenny Thorpe, Cindy Dotson and Dawn Millsaps.
