Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint John leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Zimmermann and Doris Zimmermann; his son Jesse Zimmermann (Alondra); his wife Elaine Zimmermann; his son Jake (Teresa); his granddaughters, Jenna and Rachael; his stepgrandchildren, Ashton and Zoe; and his sibling's children, Laura Davila and David Nichols. He was also cherished by four step daughters.

After contracting COVID-19 during a cruise trip through the British Isles in 2022, other health conditions, including COPD and RSV, became more difficult.
