He was predeceased by: his parents, John N. Smith, Sr. and Mary Ellen McAmis Smith; and his siblings, Melissa White, Margaret Neal, Becky Suhr, Pamela Smith and Melvin Smith.

He is survived by: his siblings, John N. Smith, Jr. (Jenny) of Belvidere, Thomas Smith (Kathy) of Flintville, Charles Smith of Belvidere, Sarah Limbaugh of Winchester, Ella Robinson of Winchester and Kathy Harris of Manchester; and his caregiver Sheila Varadi.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Haven House of TN, at havenhousetn.org.
