He was predeceased by : his parents, Virgil Burchfield and Mattie Burchfield; his close friend Katherine Sue Lowe; his sisters, Sue Byrd and Maleia Reed; his brother-in-law Byrd; his grandson Mikey Burchfield; and his sister-in-law Mary Burchfield.

He is survived by : his children, Paul David Burchfield, Shawn, Troy, Vanessa Burchfield, Melissa, Melvin Jeffers, Emily Burchfield and Toby Jones; his grandchildren, Kalyn, Colby, Adrianna, Jacelyn, Nena, Anthony, Courtney, Kyleigh, Braxton, Jonathan, Josiah and Abigail; his great grandchild Kade Lawson; his siblings, Virgil (Phoebe Burchfield), Judith (Cecil Strunk), Michael Burchfield of Lakeland and Steve (Tammie Burchfield); and his niece Stasha (John Strunk) of Winfield. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
