We bid farewell to David Purcell Haines of Woodbury, Tennessee, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 5, 2025 at the age of 76. David touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Simpson Haines and Jane Purcell Haines; and his son Alex Haines. He is survived by: his wife Cyndi Haines of Woodbury; his children, Robert Bolton (Christina) of Murfreesboro, Laura Leath of Woodbury, Lacy Conner (Reid) of Christiana and Stacie Simmons (Jeremy) of Woodbury; and his brother Martin Haines (Brenda) of Texas. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and by his protector and companion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gentry-Smith Funeral Home (303 Murfreesboro Rd, Woodbury, TN 37190). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Cherry Cemetery (174 Cove Hill Rd, Woodbury, TN 37190).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations made be given to the American Cancer Society.
