She was predeceased by : her parents, Delter Lois Tenpenny and Hesta Pitts Tenpenny; her husband Larry C. Mathis; her stepmother Lota Smith; her brothers, H. A. and Medford Foster; and her brother-in-law Dwight Mathis.

She is survived by : her children, Pamela Cowan (Jimmy) of McMinnville and Brent Mathis (Angela) of Woodbury; her grandchildren, Matthew Cowan (Beth) of Woodbury, Tara Cowan of McMinnville, Haley Parker (Landon) of Shelbyville and Hannah Jones (Ryan) of McMinnville; her great grandchildren, Catherine, Cameron, Oliver Cowan and Lorelai Jones; her grandchildren, Sawyer and Chloe Owens; her siblings-in-law, Lynne Foster, Wilma Foster and Bobby Mathis (Vickie); and her friend Joan George. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins.
